Common questions
How does automatic progression decide?
When you finish a workout, each lift is checked on its own. If every set was ticked at or above its target reps, that lift’s weight goes up by its increment next time. If not, the weight stays the same. Miss a lift three sessions in a row and it backs off so you can build back up. You can change the increment for each lift when you edit a workout. Automatic progression is part of Pro.
A set fell short. How do I log fewer reps?
Type the reps you actually did into the set’s reps box before or after ticking it. Ticking a set with an empty box logs your target reps.
I closed the app mid-workout
Your workout is saved as you go. Open Work Ethic and tap the workout to resume where you left off.
How are warm-up weights worked out?
Each warm-up is a percent of the lift’s working weight, rounded up to the nearest plate and never below the empty bar. You can change the percents in Settings. Warm-up sets are part of Pro.
Can I switch between pounds and kilograms?
Yes. Open Settings and choose your unit under Units.
My workout didn’t show up on Strava
- Check Settings: Strava should say Connected, with Post automatically turned on.
- Workouts post when you tap Finish. If you were offline, Work Ethic tries again next time you open the app with a connection, or you can tap Retry on the workout’s summary in History.
- If it still doesn’t appear, disconnect and connect Strava again in Settings.
I bought Pro but it’s not unlocked
Open Settings, tap See what’s included, then tap Restore purchase, signed in to the same Google Play or Apple account you bought it with. Pro is a one-time purchase and stays with that store account.
Will I lose my workouts if I change phones?
Your workouts are stored only on your phone, and uninstalling Work Ethic deletes them. Your Pro purchase is kept by your store account and can be restored on a new phone.
